SCROLL TO LOCATE YOUR DESIRED HORROR FILM DIRECTOR

FILM DIRECTORS

CREATOR STATEMENT:

"This film is not just found-footage, it's also been artfully edited to appear completely unedited, as though it's simply a series of clips from a memory card found in a camera. The puzzle then, as co-writer and director, was to adapt the science of not just narrative storytelling, but mystery within such specific parameters."

CREATOR STATEMENT:

"Damian" is a first exercise in which I flexed my directing muscles after acquiring plenty experience as a film actor before, combining it with my deep love for horror cinema and literature, and its a twisted fable about how death can be a favor when most needed, and a human metaphor about the meaning of existence and how, once we lost everything, sometimes death is better."

"I have been in the television industry for over 15 years working as a professional sound mixer on many shows. Writing, directing, and being behind the camera has always been a passion that has recently taken a front seat with the release of this film film, and gave me the drive to start my own production company, Stereo Chemistry Productions"

"Shot entirely inside an abandoned church in my hometown – a small city in the north of Italy – Kuo’s Eyes is completely self-produced and self-made. I opted to shoot the entire film in the same space because I wanted to create a sense of theatricality and spacial awareness which would have been lost otherwise."

CREATOR STATEMENT:

"Over the years I have devoted most of my filmmaking career to inspiring and showcasing talent. I believe a good horror director is to be a good magician. Fang is a perfect storm of inspiration and magic. Half of our shoots required to stay on location. Half of the cast and crew lived in a house for a week straight where the other half of cast and crew lived in a hotel. Because of that most of the cast and crew became close creating a family like no other. A family that would give anything to make a quality product. Everyone believing in me as a film maker and as a leader, is a humbling experience."

"I am a dedicated young film maker, doing this for the art, not money. It's the love of entertaining people with amazing stories and great laughs is why I do this. When an irresistible outfit is stolen, a mysterious entity comes to reclaim what is his. The Outfit is a horror parody bringing laughs and creepiness together for an unmissable short film."

CREATOR STATEMENT:

"I've started out how many filmmakers start out, as a viewer. At a young age I was instantly hooked to the worlds of fantasy, darkness, and portrayals of horror on the screens of my childhood. As I got older, the practical side of big screen effects and costumes took my interest. In which I've made somewhat of a career out of today. As an adult I've grown a fondness to the complexities of drama, suspense and storytelling. Cinema has always been a part of my life and will continue to be."

"Open House: The Grieving Mother" explores the duality of Gothic horror films. Our world and the other realm, the present and the past, the living and the afterlife, as well as religion and black magic. It features the ghost of a little Victorian girl who haunts in the form of the "Mater Dolorosa ," also known as "The Grieving Mother," or the "Lady of Sorrow."

"The Whistler was originally inspired by the original tale of The Pied Piper of Hamelin by Robert Browning, which is about a stranger that arrives in the town of Hamelin who, after not receiving payment from leading the rats away from the town, decides to get back at the townspeople by taking their children away and leading them over a cliff to their death. “The Whistler” character is an evil entity, who, some hundred years ago, stole the children of the town of Blackwood Falls to save their souls."

"Childhood is connoted by the irrational beliefs opposing the reason of adulthood. As teens, we are the embodiments of such contradiction, since then we are neither adults nor children. The Victim of The Game of the Clock personifies this stage of transition, in carrying the greatest fear we have as adults - the atavistic dread of the unknown; one which we inherit at any instant of our childhoods."

"After making his first short for just £10 and going on to win several awards at film festivals, Hendrik was given the chance to tackle a Stephen King short story. After writing an adaptation from the source material, he set out to make this film. Alongside writing/directing/producing, Hendrik has also been a represented actor for over five years. Currently, he runs a studio and is the founder of a film festival in his home city of Worcester. He is hoping to raise the profile of film in his area."

CREATOR STATEMENT:

"As a fan of 80s and 90s creature films, I wanted to make sure this film had two important things that made those films work: practical FX and a mix tension and humor. Unlike a lot of standard horror films, creature movies - or at least the memorable ones - are self-aware of what they were, never taking themselves too seriously. The horror elements of these films are often complemented with a dose of humor as well."

CREATOR STATEMENT:

"Much like my previous short film “Frankenfriend” (2016), “Human Resources” was another project I did not expect to make. With 17 days to assemble a cast/crew (as well as costumes and props), file SAG-AFTRA paperwork and get a live production number, reserve a 12-hour overnight shoot at a standing hospital set, and arrange for travel of key members of my team from MD-DC-VA to Burbank in order to pull this off, this project surely took me by surprise. "

"My interest in horror has always favored ghost stories and alternate realities over zombie and slasher films. Therefore, as fear of the unknown is at the heart of horror, I wanted to express this in an unsettling and ambiguous way with regards to both the protagonist and the setting, rather than within the confines of something physical or mundane."

"I am extremely pleased with the finished film, and I am excited to finally get it out there for the world to see. My aim now is to submit it to film and horror festivals in time for Halloween, and hopefully all the festivals among the circuit that truly appreciates our film. This has been a long and often tiring labor of love, but it's been worth every moment. Making films is a passion that I love, and I hope that's evident in The Rage."

"While horror is arguably one of the oldest, most powerful and important genres of story that there is, it is also one of the most underrated and despised genres as well... but why? This is a question that has plagued me for many years as an avid fan and lover of horror. Horror has the ability to hold a mirror up to its audience and show us that as humans we ARE the monsters, the creatures, the things that go bump in the night."

CREATOR STATEMENT:

"Deep Shock” attempts to pay tribute to the Italian film genre called “giallo” (thrilling). The title is inspired by the most famous horror movies of two of the most important Italian directors: Dario Argento (“Deep Red”) and Mario Bava (“Shock”) It is a short film that mixes thriller atmospheres with horror cinema arguments. The goal is to recreate the magic and true intrigue from some movies from the 70s, adapting them to the technical evolution and development that this genre has experienced all along."
